Candles DIY Projects

Supplies

Before you get started on your candles, you’ll need to gather the supplies. Here’s a list of what you’ll need:

  • Wax (paraffin, soy, beeswax)
  • Wicks
  • Wick tabs
  • Containers (jars, tins, molds)
  • Essential oils (optional)
  • Coloring (optional)

Once you’ve gathered all of the supplies, you’re ready to get started.

Melting the Wax

The first step is to melt the wax. You can use a double boiler to melt the wax, or you can use a microwave. If you’re using a double boiler, make sure that the water is boiling before you add the wax. If you’re using a microwave, use short bursts of heat until the wax is completely melted.

Adding the Wicks

Once the wax is melted, it’s time to add the wicks. Start by attaching the wick tabs to the bottom of the containers. Then, thread the wicks through the tabs and tie them off. Make sure that the wicks are centered in the containers.

Adding Color and Scent

Now it’s time to add color and scent to the wax. If you’re using essential oils, add a few drops to the wax and stir until it’s fully incorporated. If you’re using wax dye, add a few drops and stir until it’s fully incorporated.

Pouring the Wax

Once the wax is scented and colored, it’s time to pour it into the containers. Make sure to hold the wicks in place while you pour the wax. Once the wax is poured, let it cool for a few hours before you move it.

Finishing Touches

Once the candles have cooled, it’s time to add the finishing touches. Trim the wicks to the desired length and add any decorative elements you’d like. You can also add labels to the containers if you’d like.

Enjoy!

Now that your candles are finished, it’s time to enjoy them! Light them up and enjoy the cozy ambiance they provide. You can also give them away as gifts or use them as decorations. Candles are a great way to add a personal touch to any décor.
